We Like to Eat/Nos Gusta Comer, written, pilot-tested and published by Celina Wille, is a paperback children's book designed to reach a culturally and linguisticaly diverse population with a nutrition education message. There are two versions - one in English and one in Spanish.

Sarah - African American Girl

We Like to Eat/Nos Gusta Comer features diverse MyPyramid characters who explain the five food groups to young readers (kindergarten to third graders, and to pre-schoolers and their parents).

The book includes simple, low cost recipes from each food group for readers to try at home. The recipes were adjusted in response to the results of the childrens' taste tests and the books were edited using the feedback from the parent evaluations.

We Like to Eat (or Nos Gusta Comer, the Spanish version) is 8" x 8", 16 pages long and fully illustrated.

Also included are a fruit and vegetable word-search puzzle and a nutrition education promotion message for parents.

We need to eat to grow and playWe Like to Eat/Nos Gusta Comer can be used across the United States not only by schools but in a variety of outreach programs at community organizations, health agencies, farmers' markets and USDA's food and nutrition programs.
